Do you recall the last time you walked away from a conversation and then suddenly thought “geez, I wish I’d responded by saying ….”.
A spontaneous response is more about listening than it is about thinking. We can’t think fast if we didn’t listen first. Some mistakenly believe that our lack of a spontaneous response is a solely a result of who we are. Certainly introversion and extroversion play a part, but we will examine the primary lever that controls the spontaneity valve.
We provide exercises that will increase everyone’s ability to respond naturally and more spontaneously in all situations. We will stretch the mental muscles that allow us to respond before we spend too long mentally rehearsing or editing our natural responses. We will examine the difference between impulsiveness and spontaneity, assuring that we don’t throw caution to the wind in a crucial business situation.
You will:
• Discover how your thinking effects your spontaneity
• Examine the divide between impulsiveness and spontaneity
• Learn the primary block to spontaneity
• Learn to build trust relationships with others in your group
• Engage in theater based exercises to loosen the spontaneity muscle and yes … we practice being spontaneous
• Come away better prepared to respond quickly
